We Are All Passengers On This Voyage

The “Friends Uniting Neighbors” (F.U.N.) Team was established by Carnival Foundation in 1997 as a grass-roots organization designed to go a step beyond traditional volunteer service initiatives. The program provides employees opportunities to venture out into the community and offer hands-on help where it is needed most. Rather than donating money or participating in company-sponsored events, Carnival employees who are members of the F.U.N. Team seek out community-service organizations.

I feel a since of pride and well-being doing something bigger than myself. As part of the F.U.N. Team Committee, I can make a difference, have a chance to give back and bring employees together — making new friends through leading and facilitating volunteer opportunities available to support families in need, help animals, and beautify the community. I want to be a part of the solution to help others.

– Regina L. Walker, F.U.N. Team Co-Chair

In the Community:

Helping Our Neighbors

Carnival Foundation and the F.U.N. Team organize volunteering events each month so employees can give back to the communities where we live and work. Although primarily focused in South Florida, volunteer opportunities are available in hub cities across the country where employees live, like Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Orlando and Tampa.

Organizations where the F.U.N. Team and employees of Carnival Corporation and its brands volunteer their time include Autism Speaks, Best Buddies, Chapman Partnership, Feeding America, Feeding South Florida, KIDS in Distress, Miami Dade Animal Service, Ronald McDonald House, Special Olympics, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Wings for Wishes.

Helping the F.U.N. Team by connecting with different non-profit organizations that make an impact on the community has been rewarding. Coming together with coworkers and their families to help the community shows a level of engagement and kindness that truly makes a difference in the lives of others.

National Volunteer Month:

Giving Back in April

April is National Volunteer Month, and Carnival Foundation’s collective efforts made a meaningful impact in our communities. More than 400 dedicated volunteers joined together to make a difference for 23 events, spanning various causes and locations. For the first time, Carnival Foundation extended outreach beyond South Florida, organizing events in Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta, Houston and Dallas. With the support of sister brands Princess and Seabourn in Santa Clarita and Holland America in Seattle, we fostered a broader sense of community engagement.

From cleaning up beaches and sorting food at local shelters to assisting with Special Olympic games, Carnival Foundation endeavors to make a meaningful impact and have some fun along the way. Visit the F.U.N. Team album to see more photos from the various events.

Serving with the F.U.N. Team has been a source of great joy for me, both on a personal and professional level. Giving back to the community enables me to express gratitude for the blessings in my own life. In my role as a co-chair, I organize activities not just in South Florida, but throughout the county, offering our remote team members in our Hub cities the opportunity to engage through volunteerism. The enthusiastic responses and smiles captured in event photos reassures me that our efforts are meaningful, making a positive impact on the lives of our colleagues and communities.

– Jodi Cordero, F.U.N. Team Co-Chair
