First Class of Scholarship Recipients Graduates from College

Karina Cabrera graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in special education.

In 2010, Carnival Foundation awarded 15 students in the Carnival Scholarship and Mentoring Program with a four-year college scholarship purchased from the Florida Prepaid College Foundation. They were the first class of students to receive the scholarship, and four years later the recipients are starting to graduate from college.

Carnival Foundation is proud to lean that twins Stephanie and Geovanna Hernandez graduated from Florida State University with Bachelor of Science degrees in sociology, with minors in social work and math respectively; Shenice Johnson graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelors in Criminology; Karina Cabrera (above) graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in special education; Daniela Barboza graduated from St. Thomas University with a BBA in Sports Administration and a minor in communications; and Angie Chalarca graduated from the FIU School of Nursing.
