NBA Star Alonzo Mourning Visits the Program

Alonzo Mourning, vice president of player programs and development for the Miami HEAT, was the guest speaker for the December Carnival Scholarship & Mentoring Program meeting.

This week we had our December meeting, and it was full of holiday cheer and inspiration. Our guest speaker was Alonzo Mourning, vice president of player programs and development for the Miami HEAT.

Alonzo, who spent a total of 11 years playing for the HEAT and won the 2006 NBA Championship with the team, spoke to the group about all of the challenges he’s overcome in his life and how surrounding yourself with good people who care can make all the difference. He also touched on his charitable work and how he values being able to give back to the community. It was a memorable visit for everyone in the room.
