Celebrating National Volunteer Month

April was National Volunteer Month, which meant a full month of activity for the F.U.N. Team and employee volunteers across the country! At 23 events from Seattle to Miami, more than 300 team members donated 1,015 hours of their time at various events for some amazing organizations and causes.

Team members gave their time to Best Buddies Friendship Walks, KID Duck Derby Fest, Miami-Dade Animal Services, Epilepsy Foundation Walk, Lotus House, Special Olympics Summer Games and Paint Your Heart Out Tampa where they painted the exterior of a home for a family in need.

Here are some fun facts from a variety of events throughout the month. Our team:
• Collected 225 pounds of trash for Baynanza in Miami.
• Prepared 150 boxed meals with pizza muffins, vegetables and ranch dressing that received glowing reviews from the families staying at Ronald McDonald House in Seattle.
• Put together 150 care packages for deployed National Guard servicemembers in Miami.
• Organized 60 care packages for Holtz and Nicklaus Children’s Hospitals in Miami and Coral Springs, respectively.
• Helped sort and pack 23,469 pounds of food, which equates to 19,555 meals at Feeding South Florida, at a Carnival-exclusive event = the biggest production to date!
• Helped sort and pack 19,975 pounds of food (with other volunteers), which equates to 16,645 meals at Tarrant Area Food Bank in Dallas.
• Helped sort and pack 11,251 pounds of food (with other volunteers), which equates to 9,376 meals at Second Harvest Food Bank in Orlando.
• Helped sort and pack 7,788 pounds of food (with other volunteers), which equates to 6,490 meals at Feeding Tampa Bay in Tampa.
• Helped sort and pack 6,195 pounds of food (with other volunteers), which equates to 5,162 meals at Atlanta Community Food Bank in Atlanta.
